Effortlessly air out your home with VELUX automations.

Technology is progressing, even in our windows we have automations and presets! With VELUX electric & solar windows you can automate your windows with various different functions. Here we’ll go through some of them.

How to know if your window is eligible for VELUX app control & active kits.

If your window is in the Electric & Solar category of VELUX products you will be able to use these kits, for example if your window code ends with 21U or 30 you will be able to. For example GGU MK06 007030 or GGU MK06 007021U.

Schedule automations

You can schedule your windows to close, open and vent depending on the time of day you set it to with the VELUX app control. For example, it’s coming up to summer time, you can schedule your windows to open to let in some of that summer air during the day and automatically close at 8PM. Keeping your home ventilated throughout the day can improve overall health, keeping stale air inside your home can become harmful to your health.

Rain sensor

Here’s a neat little feature included as standard with electric & solar pitched roof windows called a rain sensor. When the rain sensor detects moisture (aka rain drops) it will automatically close the window to prevent rain from coming inside.

Google Home & Apple HomeKit control.

You can control your windows from your smart speaker (With the exclusion of Amazon Alexa) so all you need to do is say the magic words, hey google or hey siri and ask it to do what you want.

VELUX ACTIVE with NETAMO

VELUX ACTIVE with NETAMO allows your windows to automatically open to vent stale air out your home based on various factors such as CO2 concentration inside your home. The VELUX ACTIVE kit gives you stats on CO2 in your home and gradually learns your indoor environment over time to set automations to keep your home happy and healthy. This neat little add-on will give you your own dashboard on your phone to show you the current air quality indoors and works similarly to the VELUX App control to allow you to control your windows from your smart speaker such as Google home and Apple HomeKit (with the exclusion of Amazon Alexa)
