VELUX Top-Hung Roof Windows

What are they suitable for?

This range of roof windows are the preferred 
installation for loft conversions, providing 
uninterrupted views and a means of a fire 
escape. Suitable for roof pitches between 15° 
and 55° and can also be suitable for pitches 
between 55° and 75° with special springs.

How to operate for cleaning

For ease of cleaning, the roof window has centre-pivot functionality  to easily rotate 180° and allow cleaning of the outer

glass.

How to engage the springs

In order to engage the springs, you must open the roof window fully to access the spring.

How to disengage springs

Springs can easily be disengaged with the help of a flat head screwdriver. Ensure to support the weight of the sash when activating/deactivating springs.

How to engage the vent flap

To engage the ventilation flap, locate the one side of the headlock that is not engaged. Lift the headlock arm upwards away fromthe console clip and pull forwards. Once the headlock arm is pulled 
forward, close the ventilation bar fully.

VELUX Centre-Pivot Roof Windows

What are they suitable for?

This range of roof windows are the preferred installation for extensions, providing full control and  daylight for out-of-reach operation. Suitable for roof pitches between 15° and 90°.

How to exchange the vent flap

All VELUX roof windows have a 10 year guarantee. Over the lifetime of the roof window, parts may begin to wear out. Exchanging a ventilation flap couldn’t be simpler.

Installations

Cut out size

Regardless of the roof 
window size, you will 
need to cut the hole 
in the roof 40-60mm 
bigger than the roof 
window for standard 
installations and 
50-60mm bigger for 
recessed installation to 
allow for insulation.

BDX Collar

The BDX Insulation Collar is 
suitable for use with EDL/EDP 
/EDT and EDW flashing kits 
and comes complete with BFX 
Underfelt Collar. It insulates 
around the roof window 
frame, reducing heat loss and 
eliminating cold bridges, making 
insulating and installing the 
roof window a simple process.
